Description | The duties of this position will be split between the job duties of a School Psychologist and a Student Services Director.
Director JOB GOALS: To carry out the performance objectives stated for this position, as well as to provide guidance and leadership for all preschool, elementary, junior high school, and senior high school students and staff assigned to Special Education, Title I, ELL, 504, HAL programs.
General Responsibilities:
- Accept and carry out the administrative rules and regulations of the school district.
- Enforce board policies.
- Keep the Superintendent informed of all matters that may involve him/her or the board of education.
- Serve as an active and engaged member of the school district’s administrative team.
- Serve as a positive, public representative of the school district.
- Serve as a leading advocate for the needs and interests of all students in support of the mission of the district.
- Coordinate with building principals, the district business manager, the district secretary/data steward, any applicable Non-Public personnel, and any other internal or external personnel as may be necessary to carry out the discharge of assigned responsibilities.
- Stay current with research and best practices in the field of education as well as changes in changes in state/federal regulations and/or technical guidance.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Establish and maintain the district’s continuous and ongoing compliance with NDE Rule 3, NDE Rule 15, NDE Rule 51, NDE Rule 52, and federal Title I regulations.
- Plan and implement program compliance and program evaluation activities in accordance with NDE Rule 3, NDE Rule 15, NDE Rule 51, NDE Rule 52, and federal Title I regulations.
- Provide assistance and guidance to the Superintendent in the establishment and maintenance of locally required policies and regulations as they relate to Special Education, Title I, ELL, 504, HAL, and Homeless Students.
- Assume the responsibility for planning, coordinating, and evaluating the Special Education, Title I, ELL, 504, and HAL programs.
- Act as the Rule 10 Continuous School Improvement (CSIP) and MTSS Coordinator, Director, and Facilitator for the school district.
- Complete all annual plans and reports required by NDE in compliance with NDE Rule 51, Title I, ELL, 504, HAL, and Rule 10 - CSIP.
- Assume the responsibility for planning, coordinating, and completing any required external or cooperative compliance, improvement, or monitoring processes utilized in conjunction with the Special Education, Title I, ELL, 504, HAL, or CSIP programs.
- Assist the Superintendent and the district secretary/data steward with, and provide timely and accurate information for, ADVISOR enrollment information for SPED, Title I, ELL, 504, and HAL.
- Assist the Superintendent and business manager with, and provide timely and accurate information for, the completion of Special Education Final Financial Reports.
- Assist the Superintendent and business manager with, and provide timely and accurate information for, the completion of Special Education Transportation Reports.
